Pictures. Yippee!

Okay, so last post I mentioned that I made a skirt. SO here it is!

I even made an attempt to make the pic look better by taking it outside..

The next picture is of the skirt I am going to refashion.

I bought it about 5 years ago and I wore it one time (to my nephew's baptism). It didn't fit then and it doesn't fit now..I gave it to my Mom but then I saw this skirt tutorial. I was thinking to myself "self, that looks like a great skirt, and not that hard either. I could totally make that!" and then my self was like "hey, that skirt you have that doesn't fit is also too long.. couldn't you do up the waist on that skirt the way the tutorial shows??" It seemed like a good idea to me.. See I have to wear that green skirt up around my ribs to be able to wear it. Who the hell wants to wear a skirt around their ribs? I mean that is worse than wearing it high waisted.. Right? So I'm going to hack off the waist, and use AMH's tutorial to make the waist. She's got a great idea where you make casings around and then put tiny elastic in there so give it a shirred look. I'm kinda excited about it. Even if it is kinda putzy. But I don't mind doing crap like that. So maybe if I can pull myself away from Giveaway Day long enough to work on it..
I've been doing hardly anything the last 3 days but looking at blogs and entering to win stuff. I'm glad that most of them end tonight. I'm sure the peeps over at SMS were like "if it lasts longer than three days people are going to start dying and losing thier jobs" because they have spent all this time not doing anything else.. not working or cooking or eating or picking kids up from school or daycare or something like that..
I think that's all I have for now. I could probably ramble on and on.. but I'd rather eat lunch and work on that skirt.. No one can say for sure if I'll wear it AFTER I change it but chances are I'll wear it at least one time.. Wish me luck!!

Finally a picture...

With terrible light. I'll have to say sorry to my sister who takes great pictures. But ya know, it is was it is. I wasn't going to post anything today, mostly because I'm lazy but then I checked my comments and saw that Kim had posted. She's the only person I'm not related to that reads my blog! Thanks Kim. It always makes me happy when she leaves comments. Like I'm special or something! So here's the picture. These are my owls and my mummy. The picture really is terrible.. But oh well! I'm over it.

In other news, I woke up this morning to SNOW. Like a couple of inches of snow. I'll put it in perspective for you, 2 weeks ago it was 70's. It snowed until about 11am and then it all melted. Tonight it's raining.... free car wash. Tomorrow is supposed to be 51 degrees out. Who knows what's going to happen. I've decided that in the midwest, you get what you get and no matter what people are going to bitch about it.
Something else that became apparent to me, my nephew, my little sweetheart is going to be 5! This really hit me when I was loading pictures from my Mom's camera, she has some from a few years ago. And some of them were great pictures and he looked so different, long hair and a round little face. He's done alot of growing in 5 years and I can hardly believe it. I can't really imagine how my sister feels about it.. Maybe it's different when you don't live with him and see him ALL the time..Maybe the time moves slower.. There was a time when I spent alot of my time with him and I loved every minute of it! That's all I'm writing on that because it's going to make me cry....
I guess I don't have anything else. Maybe tomorrow I'll have something more interesting. Other than the owls :)

How boring is a blog with no pictures?

Well, I still have not figured out/thought about my camera situation. I'm totally afraid to use it because I don't want it to happen again. I mean what if I'm just taking pictures and then it dies on me and then I lose the pictures I've taken... So I have made some stuff and I would like to post pictures of them..but I haven't taken any pictures... For now I will tell you that they are owls. I love owls. I haven't mentioned here recently that I like to crochet. I like to make all kinds of things. But most recently, like the past yeah I've been on an kick of making little things. They are called amigurumi. Last year I made mushrooms, and two turkeys, a skull, some kinds of puffball thing, and a mummy. If you crochet you can find patterns out there on the web. I just google them. There are also a few books out there and people who sell patterns and what not. Maybe later I will get them all together and take a pic with my mom's camera. Because really, posts with no pictures are boring. I also have to profess my love for cake. I made a cake earlier this week and it's just a yellow cake mix (from a box) with some chocolate frosting (from a tub) but it is so yummmy. I think about it often. I mean if it was 9:30 in the morning I would love to have a pc of cake... But I draw the line at have desserts for breakfast. Along that line though, I was offered ice cream at 10 am by a five year old. It was very funny. That was followed by his little brother telling me how much he loves chocolate, but it he said it the funny way three yr olds say things. And with a little bit of a pouty face. And then "he needed" it, like he would die with out chocolate at 10 am. I'm a pushover but I'm not stupid :) I guess I don't have anything super exciting to post, other than just letting the three people who read this blog know that I'm still around. So peace out!

Ahhh, fall..and other junk!

I love fall.. Here in MN it's beautiful.. You have such a wide variety of weather, it can be 80 one day and two days later it could be snowing. Today is gray and wet, not super cold. The air is heavy and I like that. Sometimes it's just nice to have days like that. This guy is a metal skeleton stake thing that I bought at JoAnn's last night.. It was 50% off. I thought it was cute so I decided that if I bought anything else that I would get him, and since it's not hard to find stuff to buy at JoAnn's, especially in the fall when I'm knitting all kinds of junk. Plus, I had some coupons and you can use more than one. And when I came home I stuck him in the yard so when Mom came home she would see him. She thought he was cute.
This is my second wristband, it turned out a lot better than the first one, but it might be a little small, but it's fairly stretchy so it'll be ok. I'm also working on a wristlet, like a fingerless glove, but I'm putting a thumb on it. I did this thing I've seen called "fetching" and you knit the stitches on waste yarn then you slip them back and knit them again and when you take out the waste yarn you have two sets of live stitches that you knit to make up your thumb. So we'll see how that goes. But I'm pretty excited about it. But I've decided that I like making singular things like A scarf or A hat. This stuff where you have to make 2 seems like a lot of work.... But I might try making 2 at a time.. with 2 circulars.. If I can figure that out..
Well, this weekend should be fun B/F and I (if he still wants to go) are invited to a German themed Halloween party. I'm not going to dress up, mainly because I don't have to. I'm kind of excited because it's my friend from H.S. and her husband who are having the party and I haven't seen her in about 2 years. Even though she lives like 7-8 miles away. But really that's all I have going on.. I have to get some new glasses, and I hate shopping for glasses. Anyone who wears glasses will probably understand thing.. because you can't see with out the glasses but you need to see what they look like on your face so you gotta put them on (but you can't see) and try to figure out if you look like a doof-wad or not.. Plus, you got someone asking if you like these or these or what about something like this.. So it's generally a good 'ol time.. And bringing someone with you doesn't help at all, because they can see, and you might not like what they like. Writing about it makes me want to do it even less.. damnit! Oh well, I could probably find some if I just sucked it up! Plus, I'm a cheap skate- so I try not to spend a shit load even though the last pair I got cost like $200 but that was with a nice discount thru my insurance.. Well, that's enough boredom for one day. See ya'll on the flip-flop..

Huh?

Well, I'm not sure when I blogged last but I remember it being about how being a kid is way better... And today, once again.. It's completely obvious to me that it's true. I've had a very tiring 2 weeks.. working weird shifts, 1/2 shifts and off shifts. But I survived and the second week was much better than the first.. But I thought (for some reason) that this week would be all back to normal and just regular and boring.. Silly me! I should know better than that..
Well, I started this post on Monday.. today is Friday... figure that one out. But I have some pics.

This is my new water bottle. And I love it. The top one is of this thing called a "splash guard" basically it's so that you don't spill it on yourself.. Which I have done- and somehow I spilled on myself yesterday even with it. But that's ok. It's just water. I'm happy to let you all know that I will be having some cucumbers! I've been trying hard to pollinate them so that I can for sure have some. I would have been very bummed if none would have grown. I'll have to take some pictures of them.. I guess I haven't posted since my birthday- which seems like 10 years ago.. but it was really only 3 weeks ago.. The sad part is that I can't really even think of anything to post about.. because the past weeks have just been sort of blurry, blending together. But this week was pretty OK, B/F brought me some flowers that he picked from in the woods. This is sort of a long story but there is some land (between his house and mine) and they recently cleared out all the trees and then a few months ago they burned a bunch of it (why we don't know) but then about a month ago these huge purple patches appeared.. just out in the middle of this land.. and I've been wanting to wander out there and see what they were.. well we never really got around to it (mainly bc it's been HOT) but he went and got them for me. I thought it was so sweet.. And then yesterday he bought me a new hockey shirt.. I'm so glad it's Friday. And it looks like the weather is going to be nice.. 80's and sunny. Yippee.
I've also been watching the Olympics.. I'm not sure why, maybe I'm sports deprived.
Yesterday I had an eye exam.. nothing new there. The Dr. that did was young.. he looked younger than me! I thought it was funny though because the assistant chick wanted me to take off my glasses and asked me if I could read the giant letter on the wall.. and I was like umm.. NO.. I can't freaking see with out them...I mean do they need to ask that? If I could read it with out my glasses, would I be there? No! Wow- it's almost 11am! that means I only have like 4 hours of work left.. Whoo hoo! I guess there isn't really anything else to talk about.. Been pretty boring lately.. Just work and sleep and being tired....

Blackberry or Blueberry?

Have I expressed my love for this little do-dad? Even though I don't have the Internet plan for it you can still do a lot of stuff on the computer and download and then you just hook the BB up to the computer and then zap it over, eazy peazy! There are thousands of things you can DL for this thing.. Themes, wallpaper, software, games, and ringtones.. They even have a program you can get to make your own themes.. which I was super excited about until I started DLing this stuff and learned that there was a shit load of stuff you need.. Maybe this is something Kim can help me with since she's the computer lady :) But when I got up to 4 *different* programs and learned that I needed other stuff, I gave up.. But it did make me a little sad because the program itself seems pretty straight forward and easy. However, I like to mess with things and putz with them and figure them out.. Oh well! Moving on, I have two picture both I took with the BB.

The first one is a shirt that I made using an experimental technique.. Maybe not but something I came up with.. only to find that they sell an actual product for this.. But anyways, I wanted to make something on a shirt look like it was spray painted. And since I'm a cheap ass I thought " hey, I'll just get a little spray bottle and water down the fabric paint and spray it on there". And when I went to Michael's to use my coupon I saw that they sell Spray fabric paint but it was $4.99 (again the cheapness) so I used my 40% off coupon and spent .81 on a little spray bottle. And the skull is something that my sister cut out for me on her Cricut (I like skulls!!) and I traced it and cut it out of the freezer paper and then I just watered down the paint and then I ripped a hole in some newspaper and then sprayed away. I was so happy because I didn't need to center the stencil or plan it out or anything it was very exciting!! The only thing is that I took it outside to spray and it was windy and newspaper is very light.. so that was kind of bad planning, but overall it was pretty cool. I haven't washed it yet, I mean it might just all wash out! I also made an Elmo shirt for Owen, that one took planning and 4 coats of white to cover up the red. You'll have to hop over to my Sister's blog to see that.
The second picture is of Owen playing outside. In the background is his wonderful sandbox!
Pretty often when I watch him during the week we play out in the sandbox, it's been a long time since I've had a sandbox. But I always play in the sand with him, like using the damp sand to make shapes (which are immediately smashed) but it's very relaxing to just mess with the sand.
Hmm.. I guess I don't have anything else.. I'm pretty behind on the blogging and I don't really have a specific reason.. Well, I hope you all have a great day and great days until I blog again..

Yippee! Hockey Players!

Today is a good day. Tonight I am going to "Hockey Unplugged"! This one is in Minnetonka, I think I've been there 2 times in my life. I map-quested it and it doesn't look hard to get too. As of now B/F is going with me, we'll see what actually happens. Tonight it's these two guys.
Mikko Koivu

Branko Radivojevic

I'm hoping that we get there early enough and that its fun and the B/F goes with me. I feel like kind of a tool just sitting around with no one to talk to or anything. But I guess I could bring something to look at if he doesn't go. This time I am going to bring my camera and not bring my purse. Because last time I didn't bring the camera (wished I had the whole time) and I brought my stupid purse (trying to figure out why the whole time) so then I can have some pics to post, and this time I'm sitting closer than I did last time, and not in the middle. But it's at a restaurant/bar place so we could have something to eat or whatever.
Honestly, I don't really have anything else to post. Pretty bored today, I mean I have plenty of things I could be doing but really what's the point....If I don't get it done I'll just get an email asking me about it and then I will do it and no one will care :P Have a great day!

bathROOM with a view...

Huh? What's that? A bathroom with a view? you betcha!

OK, so the picture isn't that great but as you can see, its a picture of the street from an upper level window. Well, this is a picture I took in a bathroom stall.. Why the hell would you take a picture in the bathroom you ask? Because I thought it was very funny. I could have mooned the whole street! Now, I did not go into this windowed stall on purpose, it was just that when I went to the show on Friday I went into the bathroom and this girl (the only other one in there, with like 10-15 stalls) was running around trying to find one she liked or something I don't know she was probably wasted. I was not! But I went in and shut the door and then I realized that one side was all windows and thought it was very funny...So that's that.

And these are my Crocs! They are called "Mammoth" and they are lined with fuzzy stuff. They are hot, as you can see a little bit of ankle sticking out, because I am wearing no socks.. I could never wear socks with these.. I've had to take my feet out a few times to let them get some air.. They are an early Christmas present from my Mom. :)

I would have posted all this stuff yesterday but I was covering for the stupid-ass that I work with..He was "sick" whatever! I was pissed. I don't really get super mad about stuff.. I just don't for whatever reason. But it was a slow day and so then I wasn't as pissed, plus I decided that I was taking Friday off. haha, jack-ass! That is my little revenge. I mean I try not to talk to him or start any conversations with him because he drives me nuts, he knows everything (according to him) but really he knows nothing..He thinks that "irregardless" is a word...And that something can be "to inconclusive" ..I'm going to leave it at that..And he thinks that because he had a computer programming class like 20+ years ago- he knows everything about computers too.

I guess I had a good weekend. Friday we went to the show, we got in pretty much right away because we had tickets, and then we just hung out till the show started.. I was actually kind of bored, maybe I was tired or something I don't know but it wasn't a whole ton of fun. B/F is on the street team for this record labelthat was hosting the show so he handed out some flyers and stuff. He also snagged autographs from a bunch of people. But about 1AM I was all "I'm bored" so then we left. he was a little disappointed too. I'm glad that the tickets were only $16 and parking was $4. But I got a cool shirt. I like tour shirts. I guess I don't really have anything else and since I am a day behind at work (this is a time where I am actually busy) I should get back at it but here's a pic to make you say "awww" For some reason he was very still while I was taking pictures of us hanging out on the couch, and wouldn't smile for me. It's still cute.
So, see you all later. I'm off to earn my $$

Just try and stick to the schedule, OK!

3:00 pm, leave work, drive fast!

3:20 pm, Arrive home, do a drive by of autograph site. Not that many people!

3:25 pm, Call from B/F still at work. Wait for him!

3:30 pm, wait...brush the cat to pass the time..

3:40 pm, wait, check to see if I can see B/F down the road, nope..

3:45 pm, Yippee he's here..

3:50 pm, Can we leave, I mean I'm ready to go.. We leave..Finally!

4:00 pm, We made it (2 miles) drive around gas station parking lot..3 times.. park!

4:05 pm, inside the store, call D from work to tell him it's filling up fast..Get kicked out of store with like 50-60 other people...

4-5 pm, wait around and make small talk with other weirdos waiting in line..

5-5:13 pm, get in get autograph, get to car! All done..

But at this time I see that I am pretty much blocked in by 8 other cars.. but I have a pretty small car so I'm thinking that I'm going to have to "Austin Power's it" which is a term I use because there is that point in the movie where he is trying to turn the cart around in the hallway and he's gotta go back an forth a million times. But luckily the guy that was parked in front of me was awesome and pulled out so that I could move. Then I went home and had a burrito.. Very fulfilling day! Here are some pictures!!
So these are my things from last night. I bought the sign, because it was really the only thing that I could find that seemed autograph appropriate..Meaning that it won't bleed or get washed or anything else. it just gets hung up on the wall. The B/F thinks that we should start going to more of these signing and get it all signed up, I thought that seemed like a cool idea.. The first one is me trying to take the picture and the cat (who is sure she's the center of the universe) because she wouldn't get out of the way.. Then one with out the cat and then one close up. That's a pretty big rip of a signature if you ask me. But what do I know?
Well, this weekend I don't have a lot going on but tonight the B/F and I are going to a concert at First Avenue. We are going to see Atmosphere and some other semi-local guys. Its your typical night club I guess.. So I'm looking forward to it since we haven't been to a show in a few months. We used to go ALL the time, big waste of $$ if you ask me. But it doesn't start until 9pm and that's usually about the time I start getting ready for bed, so I'm going to have to get a nap in b4 we go. I think I'm going to bring my camera though so maybe I'll have some awesome pictures on Mon..or when ever I get around to posting them. Then Saturday Mom and I are going shopping for Crocs...I don't have a pair, she has 2 pair, my sister has a pr and even little Owen has a pair..So will the BIL, provided we can find the right size..I'm thinking I will wear them to work :) Well, this post has taken me about 4 shifts to write and its getting close to go time so hope ya'll have a great weekend!

It's a GIRL!

Yippee!! Yippee! Well, I'm not talking babies here people. I'm talking pumpkins!! Here's my proof. That little nub at the bottom of the flower will soon be a pretty orange pumpkin- assuming the plant lives, and that end doesn't get eaten off...

Ok, what else, I have pics-o-plenty tonight. The only thing that sucks is that I have dial-up and it's slow tonight to to upload 1 pic takes a long time...The up side is that I can watch the TWINS while I'm waiting for the pictures to load..So here is my topic for the day. People who have stuffed animals in the back window of their cars. If you are one of these people please explain it to me. I don't understand this, and I think it is stupid. I see this crap pretty much everyday when I am leaving work. Now, I was going to drive around by work and capture this lovely sight..faded teddy bears and kitty cats. Beanie babies stacked on top of each other. But I got off work early for a change and wanted to come straight home, so I did. But I figured this would not be a hard thing to find and that I could just go up to the grocery store or Wal-Mart and it wouldn't be an issue. It was! This must not be something that people do in my town, otherwise they are to embarrassed to go out when people will see their 18 frogs, loving each other in the window.. SO I had to re-create just for the sake of my rant. But I will find some other cars with them in for real..These pictures aren't the best because it was like 8pm and there was alot of glare from the sky, but it makes my point. I put Elmo right in the middle to make sure that he was blocking my view..

And while driving around, probably looking like some kind of freak-a-zoid, I saw this dandy of a license plate! I wonder if it's an occupation or a name...Hopefully ya'll can see it ok, it says "POTMAN" it was parked outside of a restaurant and I didn't want to look like a total freak so I just stopped and took one pic, otherwise I would have gotten a better one.. da na na nananan dananan POTMAN (sung to the tune of Batman).

So was the post a let down? Or was it least somewhat interesting? It only took me 1 hour to do..because of the slow uploads. So, I guess that's all I have.. Oh, I started my snake scarf. it seems to be going pretty well so far, I hope that it turns out and doesn't look like crap.. that happens sometimes.. Have a great weekend!

* *Lucky number 51* *

Wow, I've posted 51 times already. Why, not write this yesterday on #50 you ask? Well, because I wasn't paying attention yesterday, that's why. What I have for you today is an experience in photo wonder. I hoped over to the Photo Challenge, since I'm a few weeks behind, this week was about some technique called Miksang, and I thought that I would try it out last night but I didn't know what the hell to do, so I heard some cops coming and they were down the street from my house, and I sat on the curb, and was just watching the cops and thinking about what I could take pictures of..Then I thought oh, I could take pictures of the cap lights, that might be cool, but by the time I was done dinking around with the camera settings, they had turned off their lights.. So then I thought I would try taking pictures of cars with a low speed on the camera..Here's what I got.

The one in the middle is an ambulance that went past, I got excited because I'd be able to take a picture of it. The other two are just cars that were going past. For some reason I just thought that it was kind of neat. This picture is of Dag, he was out by the street with me, he likes to help with all the various yard tasks (including taking pictures of cars..) so he followed me out there, and we were kind of jogging through the yard and so I took a picture of him, I think it looks weird, because he is sort of focused, but the ground is not, and just a side note, all that brown is the grass in my yard..Because its been so dry and my Mom could care less if the grass grows, then she doesn't have to mow, even though she has recently employed my B/F to do it.

So, I'm sad to say that I've got only male flowers on my pumpkins. They bloom and then they die right away, those pics that I posted yesterday I took at about 8:30am and by the time I got home from work at 4pm, they were all wilted and deady looking. I had two more this morning, and if they are dead when I get home, I'll know they are male. But I guess this is normal.. I'm just wanting there to be a pumpkin SO bad. In other veggie news, I have some peas..I think there are about 4 or 5, so thats cool. Mom cut some of her lettuce last weekend, but we haven't tried it yet. I don't have any beans yet but I'm hoping they aren't far behind. I waited a little long to start planting so they are all a little behind.
But I'm still hoping to have SO much stuff that I have to sell it on the street. Well, I should get to work since its almost lunch time and I like to have completed something before I go to lunch. I mean I DO have goals for myself, they aren't high, because then I always feel good because I've completed my work goals for the day, then I'm happy :P Have fun ya'll and wish my Twins luck because they've been losing, but I'm going to listen to them anyways. I am a true fan!

Pump, pump, pump, it up.

Any of you remember that? The shoes that you could pump up? And the commercial had a little jingle that went along with it and they'd sing it and show some guy pumpin' up his shoes. Well, you're in luck because this post will NOT be about some old ass shoes you could pump up! It's going to be more pictures. I can hear the cheers now!
These are the flowers on my pumpkins, I took it this morning, I was so excited when I looked out the window and saw them, the flowers are huge, maybe 3-4 inches wide. I don't know if they will turn into pumpkins or not though, its only the female flowers that get the fruit... What's that you say?? You want more cars too! Well, since you asked so nicely. Here they are..

Well, this car has tiny little tires, I would say they are donut sized. The kind you put on your car, not the kind you eat. The car also has hydraulics, or hydros. I didn't get to see them in action, I was kind of bummed about that. But it was still funny to look at.

I couldn't tell you what kind of car this is, I just know I took a picture of it. And it looks cool. I think its cool that all of these pictures were taken of moving cars (except the Beaumont) and they turned out so good, there are some that didn't and its too bad because they were cool, there was an electric blue Impala that I saw about 10 times and it finally went past me and I got it all in the frame and everything.. But it was just going to fast or I wasn't focusing properly, but I remember it in my mind and it was cool. Well, I guess I should get going, I do have real things to get done. So hope ya'll have a good day.

Mo, Mo, Monday!

Well, I wrote a post yesterday but blogger was being stupid and I couldn't post, and then it wouldn't save it and I was trying to post pictures but it wouldn't load them. It was just an irritating experience. So i just gave up! So I'm back to work (yay) and I ended up forgetting my work shoes, so I'm wearing slippers.. But anyways, vacation was good, the weather was so nice and was only a little hot one day. I loved spending time in the pool, I only wished that it was outside, in the sun. It made me remember how much I like being in the water and just floating around. On Saturday, the B/F and I went to St. Paul for the Car Craft Summer Nationals, another car show. This time it was muscle cars and some hot rod types. There were also a lot of new cars that people were showing off. We hung out down there for a while, it was nice out so it was cool. Not all of my pics turned out very well since most of the cars were moving and some were going faster than others, but here are some of the not blurry ones.

The one car is a corvette, the other ones I'm not sure about even though I'm sure I asked "what's that one"..This one is called a Beaumont, I have no idea what it is, and neither did my Mom or the B/F. And one guy walked up to him and said "this must be the only one like it here" it was a nice car, beautiful in fact. It was from Canada even. I'll have to Google the kind to see what its all about. Hopefully, I spelled it right. Well, apparently the Beaumont is a Canadian car (imagine that, and its from Canada).

So anyways, I hope you all enjoy the pics, I have more, but don't want to overload your eyes with all these beauties. :P Have a great day!
